Library Policy of Hyderabad Chapter of ISACA

Objective:
The objective of the Library is to provide service to the Members of the Hyderabad Chapter of ISACA with conscious efforts directed towards continuous learning and improvement to attain the needs of the Members of the Hyderabad Chapter of ISACA.

1.
Articles in the Library: the Library will stock Books, Floppies, Articles, Journals, CD’s related to the field of Information Systems Governance, Control, Security and Audit. It may also stock other articles that are of use to the members.
2.
Publication of Items in the Library: The List of publications stocked in the Library shall be given on the Chapter Website (www.isaca.org.in). Additions to articles will be intimated through the Chapter News Letter and/or through e-mail.
3.
Eligibility: Only active ISACA Hyderabad Chapter members in good standing may borrow articles.
4.
Procedure to borrow articles: Members can visit the Chapter Office which houses the Library and select the book to be borrowed.
5.
If any requested article is already borrowed, we will notify you of the expected date that we will be sending it.
6.
Number of articles that can be borrowed: A borrower can borrow one article at a time.
7.
How to borrow: Borrower should personally or through a person authorised in writing collect the article from the library at #814, Raghava Ratna Towers, Chirag Ali Lane, Abids, Hyderabad between 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. on Saturdays. The borrower or his authorised representative will have to produce the Membership ID Card issued by ISACA at the time of borrowing articles.
8.
Period for which articles can be borrowed: Articles may be borrowed for two weeks.
9.
Renewals: An article may be renewed if there are no other pending requests for that article.
10.
Undertaking: The borrowers shall give a undertaking to the Chapter that the books or Floppies/CD’s borrowed from the Library shall not be copied/pirated.
11.
Limit on Renewals: There is a limit of two (one week) renewals per article -maximum loan time including renewals is four weeks. The Librarian reserves the right to restrict the period.
12.
How to return: Return of articles will also be between 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. on Saturdays.
13.
Obligation to return: Please return articles on time. The penalty for defaulting on the deadline without renewal is Rs. 100 per week or part thereof. Please remember that your peers may be waiting for the article(s) you have borrowed so prompt return is extremely important. Repeated and/or unsuccessful attempts to have the article(s) returned to the Library may result in loss of borrowing privileges and/or replacement cost for the article(s) being charged to you."
14.
Loss or Damage: The borrower is responsible for the loss or damage of an article while it is in their custody and until such time as it is received back at the Library. If a article is lost or damaged, the Chapter will re-purchase the article and request reimbursement from the borrower. If the borrower receives the article from the Library in a damaged condition, the member shall immediately notify the Librarian to ensure that the borrower will not be held responsible for the damage.
15.
Suggestions for additions to Library: Suggestions to purchase articles can be made by any of the members. The Board shall plan for the budget for articles and make decisions on the selection of articles.
16.
Donations to Library: Donations of the articles, which meet the needs of the membership, are welcome.
17.
Deposits: The Librarian may decide that certain articles will only be loaned against suitable deposits payable in cash and as fixed by the Librarian.
18.
Reference Reading: Reading of the books in the library is not permissible.
19.
Modifications in Policy: The ISACA Hyderabad Chapter Board Committee is responsible for the library. The Board will decide any issues that a librarian or borrowers may have that are related to the library. The Board is empowered to amend this policy from time to time.
